Independence, professional integrity and respect for human dignity are indispensable to the mission of the Center. To promote and preserve these values, the Center´s Code of Ethics includes the following policies:

Conflicts of Interest. Members of the Center must avoid conflicts of interest or the appearance of conflicts of interest. They should never engage in any activity that might compromise or appear to compromise teh Center's credibility or its reputation for independence or impartiality.

Integrity of Research. To ensure that the information we generate is of the greatest value to citizens and policymakers, the Center is committed to conducting reasearch in a manner that is impartial and meets the highest standards of methodological integrity. We describe our findings and methods accurately and in sufficient detail to permit evaluation of the credibility of our results. We encourage inquiries abaout our research methods and practices, and attempt to answer requests for information promptly.

Human Dignity. We will only engage in research that is compatible with human dignity and respects the privacy and rights of those we research.

Any substantial complaint relating to any of these issues should be referred to the Center´s Director who will decided whether it should be considered by the Center´s management board which includes the Center´s Director, Research Director and the Treasurer. If the complaint concerns the Director, it will be considered by the Research Director, Treasurer and one outside expert nominated for the purpose.
